Captain Franklin Chronicles 4 - Captain's Log

Day 81,

Nary a ship in sight, it is quite surprising how long the supplies are lasting us. If I’m not mistaken I do believe we could last another 300 days with what I termed a “meager” supply cache.

Nevertheless, Bosom Mate Evenson and I have grown accustomed to one another but there are still tirades every now and about. I must confess floating about like flotsam is not conducive to a compelling narrative, how does one recount the sighting of a pod of dolphins in a fetching manner?

Here goes, “Dear Diary, we have seen a pod of dolphins, we are still adrift”. Oh dear me, I must say I tried.

I reckon when I make it back to shore I will never go back to my indolent ways. One would think that as a Dartmouth alumnus this sea-faring Zatara (it means driftwood in Spanish) would be like a regular dynamo.

Alas, I am not a man of great action but of great thought, I am of the opinion I should change this behavior however so I look upon my return to land with great anticipation.

Cheery – O.

Capt. B.S. Franklin
